Mrs. Hadassah Becker Paley 56, former Monroe resident, died today in a Madison hospital after a long illness. She studied music at the University of Wisconsin, taught in Detroit, married Louis H. Paley in November 1939, and moved to Los Angeles in 1951. She continued to operate her late husband’s real estate business. Services are pending at Fitch Lawrence Funeral Home, Madison.

Atty. Gen. George Thompson said Ohio and Wisconsin reciprocity for truck licenses continues without issue. Ohio collects an axle mile tax on crossing trucks while Wisconsin imposes an Ohio truck fee of 60 to 300 dollars yearly. Ohio’s new law creates a six month reciprocity certificate and a three member board to negotiate with retaliatory laws. Thompson noted no notice of cancellation has been given and Ohio authorities affirmed continued reciprocity.
