Pickets Keep Up Janesville Vigil

Pickets manned the gates of GM plants in Janesville as about 4000 UAW workers at Chevrolet and Fisher Body remained on strike over local issues. GM and UAW had settled major issues last week with a 12 cent annual raise over three years. Fisher Body and Local 95 negotiators met again as strike headquarters opened with coffee and card tables while strikers awaited assignments. Unofficially a major local issue concerns a 10 cent hourly difference between Janesville and Detroit scales.

Co B Conducts Inspection Here at Monroe Armory

Co B of Green County's National Guard held a special inspection last night at the Monroe Armory. Capt W G Wittig Williams Bay examined signal equipment with Maj Theodore J Burgy Jr in charge of supplies. Attending were Capt Glenn L Kubly liaison officer, CWO Hugo H Voelkli of the JAG section, and Lt William Johnston Jr who lectured on Riot Control. Training will be intensified and no new guard drills were ordered.
