Christ Kappeler 87 was fatally injured when struck by a car driven by John Wyman New Glarus at 2 30 p m Sunday near the Carl Marty Jr home on 23rd avenue. He died at St Clare hospital Monday. Coroner called the death accidental no inquest. He lived at 813 19th avenue and was noted for garden work and needlework. Born January 10 1858 in Wattenwyl Switzerland he came to Monroe in 1882. Survived by three daughters Mrs Casherman New Glarus Mrs Leonard Jefferson and 15 great grandchildren.
