Fight Reported at Brooklyn Fifty Motorcycle Riders Roll Through Area
In Brooklyn on Sunday a mob of about fifty motorcyclists confronted Bill Legler Sr at his seed store on Hotel Street. The group demanded beer and attacked Legler and bystanders, injuring Legler, his son Bill Jr, and beheading others with punches and a broken window. Deputies arrived after a ten minute brawl and the riders scattered. Legler blamed a civic group selling beer recently for provoking the clash. Sheriff Roy Vetterli traced the ride from New Glarus to Dayton and then Brooklyn and Oregon with no prior trouble in New Glarus.
