Miss Lena Fenne aged 77 of Argyle fractured her left hip when she fell from a small step at the rear of her home on Saturday afternoon. She was taken to St. Clare hospital for treatment where she remains under care. Her sister Kathrinka Fenne lives with her in Argyle.
Complete returns show the Socialist Unity Party routed in Berlin municipal and borough elections. SPD leads with about 49 percent, CDU second, SED around 19 percent. High turnout near 83.9 percent. US official calls the result continent wide in significance.
Washington AP authorities indicate price controls will drop from flour bread and other baked goods this week possibly today or tomorrow. An OFA spokesman noted discussion of decontrolling bread rolls and baked goods while keeping flour ceilings briefly, with OPA opposing inconsistency. OPA aims to hold auto price ceilings with a speedup toward wider decontrol.

Green county increases fox bounty workload naming two deputy county clerks to take affidavits. Dr. H. F. Zingg of New Glarus will receive claims for the northern section and Charles H. Francis of Albany for the northeastern section, announced County Clerk Clarence W. Lengacher.
Clifford Trickle and a Footville companion were bruised when their car brushed fenders with Frederick Lanz of Monroe and overturned 30 miles east of Juta on Highway 111 81 near Emil Hafen farm yesterday morning. Lanz transported the injured to a Brodhead physician for treatment. The crash occurred as the Lanz car attempted to pass.

Briggs and Root previously served as superintendents of Wisconsin conference Milwaukee and Appleton districts and Briggs represents Lawrence College on the board of trustees.
