The bound bodies of an eye surgeon his wife their two sons and a secretary were found Monday night shot and dumped in the flood burned pool area of their mansion between Santa Cruz and Sequel about 100 miles south of San Francisco. Sheriff James said there was no motive. Patches of blood stained the pool area as two cars blocked the grounds.

A Fort Madison high school humanities class studying primitive man held a rain ceremony using rocks sticks logs and reeds as noisemakers. After chanting a primitive band performed, it rained heavily that night and into the next day. The class conducted a stop the rain ceremony and the downpour ceased that evening.
Mrs. Martha Mitchell says the Supreme Court will hear from her if it rules for forced school busing aimed at racial balance. She notes neighborhoods built the nation and hints at forthcoming media contacts when the time is right.
The Alpha Zeta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sponsored a Saturday night dance in Turner Hall that raised about $100 for the St. Clare Hospital Children’s Ward. Mrs. Harry Williams chaired the event which drew a large crowd as Sammy Eggum’s Band of Stoughton provided music.

Two former soldiers testified that S. Sgt. David Mitchell and 1st Lt. William Calley Jr. fired automatic rifle bursts into a ditch crowded with civilians at My Lai in 1968. They said Calley and Mitchell pushed people into the ditch and began shooting, while both claimed no hostile fire or weapons were seen.
Kent State University Faculty Senate joined two student groups in demanding a federal grand jury investigate the May 14 campus disorders that left four students dead and nine wounded in a confrontation with the Ohio National Guard. They argued the state grand jury overstepped its remit by judging university policy and student conduct. Indictments were issued against four individuals, including Larry A. Shub, while no guardsmen faced charges. The groups urged FBI and President's Commission reports be reviewed for a fuller fact base.

Mrs. Carol Nipple of the Chamber of Commerce announces top floor parking space in the Monroe Municipal Parking Ramp may be rented quarterly. A $3 quarterly fee applies. Robert H. Rieder, a director and Monroe Parking Committee member, notified the Chamber of the plan.
