The Defense Department ordered 495 physicians 154 dentists and 67 veterinarians drafted for military service due to the buildup of demand for food inspection preventive medicine and research and development. Madison reports a 24 hour search for nitroglycerin tied to a Canadian burglary gang ended with six in custody. Three men were arrested after the Verona store safe was blown open. Two other men and a woman detained at Fargo, N D. Officials said the trio carried no explosives and had been staying in a Janesville motel. Bike Registration To Be Held Again

Monroe police and the VFW will try again to register and license bicycles from 1 to 4 30 p m at Lincoln School. Officer in charge Ervin L Goecks said about 650 bikes in the city remain unlicensed due to bad weather over the past two Saturdays. A total of 347 bikes were registered on Sept 23 before rain, and the project was postponed again last Saturday.
