A Friday 7:15 p.m. lightning bolt struck three farms near Orangeville. At Carl Maxwell’s home three miles southwest, a bolt followed a power line into the house injuring Mrs. Maxwell and Mrs. Richard Folgate. Fire damaged linoleum and a roof hole. Alfred Schulz’s cows were knocked down, and seven cows at Donald Phillips’s farm were left kneeling. Firemen and neighbors contained the blaze.
