Alfred H. Henning, Monroe insurance agent, was yesterday named secretary of the 107th Green County Fair to be held Aug 15, 1962. He succeeds Rolland E. Karlen, who did not seek re election. C. L. Hare was named president with Fred T. Burgy as vice president. L. A. Rodger became treasurer and directors David Cunningham and Ernest W. Hayes were reelected. Discussion of a pole type barn for exhibition purposes occurred with no decision. The association shows about 9500 dollars in the bank and a 1960 deficit of 1807 with depreciation allowed.

Faithful Dog Keeps Vigil Over Body of Master
Penny the ten pound terrier kept watch over Tory Ingebretson for two months after his disappearance in rural Washburn County Wisconsin. WPL expands gas service plans in 16 Wisconsin towns

Ralph Jones aged 39 was killed in a corn picker accident on his Ridgeway area farm three miles south of Ridgeway in Towa County. Ayers funeral home in Ridgeway handles arrangements. Two More Convicted In Verona Safe Case
Two Canadians Theodore Horbas of Winnipeg and Frank Kantor of Toronto were found guilty by a Circuit Court jury of burglary with explosives for blasting a Verona safe. Santa to Kick Off Monroe Holiday Season Friday
Santa will officially arrive in Monroe at 6 p.m. Friday to launch the Christmas season. He will ride the larger Santa mobile provided by Hughes Mobile Homes on the Courthouse north side, greeting children and giving free treats. The mobile unit operates 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, weekly through Christmas, with nightly shows starting December 16. Monroe’s Christmas decorations will be lit for the first time Friday night to start the season.
