Monroe Aldermen Set Public Budget Hearing for Dec 2

Monroe will hold a public hearing at 7 30 p m Tuesday December 2 in the Municipal Building on the proposed 1970 budget totaling 1 070 895 dollars an increase of about 60 000 from 1969. The tax levy is expected to rise to about 241 360 dollars with a valuation gain of 1 8 million keeping the tax rate near 5 66 per thousand. Social Workers Join Teamsters in Green County

Eight employees of the Green County Department of Social Services joined Local 579 General Drivers Dairy Employees and Helpers Union seeking wage increases and fringe benefits. Miss Mary Maher daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Maher Route 1 Albany represents Wisconsin among 40 contestants from the United States and Canada in Providence Rhode Island next week.
