UAW Ford Move to Settle Strikes Across Plants

Ford and UAW moved negotiations from local to top level at Ford headquarters Dearborn as nine local strikes including Buffalo Chicago Heights and Sheffield Alabama slowed output. Basketball season ticket sale announced at Monroe High

Monroe high school athletic director Lee Mitchell said season tickets for basketball go on sale next Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the high school office. The first away game is Saturday, Nov. 21 at Kimberly, with the first home game Saturday, Nov. 28 against Freeport.

Grove Jones, hunted for 18 years in a 100000 mile search by the victim’s son, stands trial in Clay County Tenn for second degree murder in Newt Lee’s death at Moss on December 31 1944. Wesby Lee of Tompkinsville Ky. pressed the case to bring the driver to justice.

Twin Daughters Born at Hospital in New Glarus

The sixth set of twins this year arrived today at St. Clare hospital. Twin girls were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Foster, New Glarus, at 2:45 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. weighing 5 pounds 13 ounces and 5 pounds 5 ounces respectively. The Fosters have five other children and their families include the Duersts, the Fosters, and relatives observing a 60th wedding anniversary next Sunday.
