Stockton Farmer Killed In Crashes After Icy Roads
Bert Penticoff a 59 year old Stockton area farmer was killed when his wife’s car skidded on snow and ice on highway 11 and collided with a Cardinal bus. His wife was seriously injured along with four other county residents and ten city accidents reported with no injuries. The bus driver and four passengers sustained minor injuries as multiple crashes occurred across Green county on Friday and Saturday. Services for Penticoff will be held at 2 pm tomorrow at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Stockton.

Two Area Men Drown in Snow Crash Near Ferryville
An accident from Saturday's snow storm killed Herman Hendrickson, 50, Mt. Horeb, and Herman Azzalino, 59, Hollendale. Their car skidded on slick highway 35, plunged down an embankment into four and a half feet of water on the Mississippi near Ferryville. Unidentified men pulled the bodies from the wreck. Rites for Hendrickson set at Ayers funeral home Ridgeway then Hollandale Lutheran church with burial at the Lutheran cemetery. Azzalino services at his home and St. Patrick's church Hollendale with burial at Mt Calvary cemetery.

Mrs Lena Olson Dies at 90 in South Wayne
Mrs Lena M Olson age 90 died at her son Clarence’s home four miles west of South Wayne after two years illness. Born Lena Swanson in 1860 she married Ole Olson in 1891 at West Viota church the Olsons first couple wed there. She was a seamstress known for owning the area’s first sewing machine.
