Horicon Wisconsin AP reports 130000 geese counted at Horicon National Wildlife Refuge on Tuesday, down from a record 210000 on October 20. Game manager says birds migrated south as cloudy weather and the 18 day Horicon Zone hunting season ended, causing fewer birds to stay at the marsh.
Allan Ehlers, ex treasurer of Oconto County, was named in a warrant over an alleged $7,247 misappropriation. He resigned August 10 after a state audit review and appeared before Judge Edward Herald, who disqualified himself. Case continued pending a new judge. district attorney cites a fund shortage of $12,223 with interest.
