Longtime State Legislator Stauffer Retires From Public Service
Stauffer, active in politics since 1956, served as vice chair of the assembly agriculture committee and held multiple state and local offices. A blacksmith by trade, he retired in 1956 before running for state office and is survived by a grown daughter in Chicago.

Buchschacher, a native of Green County raised on a Lafayette County farm, lived in the area his entire life. For over 50 years he operated the Buchschacher Auction and Real Estate business near Monroe with his wife. He served as a licensed broker, county appraiser, and member of the Green County condemnation commission. He left behind three children and five grandchildren, with one daughter Lois Pickett deceased, and relatives in Monroe Ann Arbor Warren and nearby areas.
