Obituary of William B Voegeli of Jordan Township
William B. Voegeli 76 of Jordan Township died Sunday in Chippewa Falls after residing in the area over 50 years. He was born February 27, 1879, married Barbara Kundert in 1899, and farmed before retiring. Fred Dinges dies at 80 in Nebraska
Obituary notes Fred Dinges 80 of Central City Nebraska formerly of Clarno died yesterday. He was born on a Monroe area farm and married Edith Williams in 1900. The couple moved to Central City in 1904 and he is survived by his wife a daughter two grandsons and a sister Olive Swartz of Brodhead.

Iron Lung Mother Dies in Fort Worth polio case

City Honors Silent Legion at Memorial Day Service
More than 1,000 people paid tribute to war dead at Greenwood cemetery and thousands more attended Memorial Day rites across the county. The morning included grave decoration, a parade from the Armory, and a Monroe High School band concert. Rev. Richard F. Hulburt spoke on liberty and sacrifice, calling the monument a symbol of a now silent legion and the flag the reason for sacrifice. The ceremony featured speakers, a wreath ceremony, a National Guard firing squad, and taps by the high school band.

Missing F-80 Jet Plane Searched By Air Force Ends
U S Air Force officials said they gave up the search for a missing F-80 jet that disappeared on a routine May 22 flight. Captain Buell R. Five people were injured in multiple crashes on area highways over the holiday weekend with two hospitalized at St. Clare. Kenneth W. Pearson of South Beloit suffered chest injuries when his car left Schwarzenberger hill on Highway 1181. he was in good condition. Mrs. Thomas Chenous of Blanchardville sustained head injuries in a two car crash south of Blanchardville. she was treated by an Argyle physician and later hospitalized. Others included Clifford Pehl of Davis with possible internal injuries from a single vehicle crash east of Twin Grove. Miss Marian McCamant of Chicago with knee lacerations at a runaway car incident. and Kay Marie Buggs of Juda with facial cuts.

Gunman Shoots Seven at Banks in Dayton
