The Monroe project outlines a 24,000 square foot complex housing city hall, fire and police operations. It features a two-level design with a lower apparatus area and training tower, plus an upper level for police services and administrative offices.
Wisconsin cheese markets showed steadiness in the week with demand fair to good for sliced natural and processed products. Prices moved up modestly on certain processed leaf and fresh midgets, while 40 pound blocks held or rose slightly. national production rose 3 percent and Wisconsin 4 percent, with Swiss cheese improving at assembling points though state brand remained limited and Grade D was high for some dealers.
In keeping with the usual holiday custom there will be no edition of The Monroe Evening Times tomorrow on Memorial Day. The regular publication schedule will resume with Monday’s edition of this newspaper.
Monroe area residents will march in a 9 am parade with a cemetery ceremony at Greenwood and a school band concert. The program includes taps, Gettysburg Address, and flags for marching children, followed by a Jaycees chicken barbecue at the fairgrounds serving 1200 half chickens.

Benton said Khrushchev offered to show the photos to President Johnson and joked about exchanging shots. He noted Khrushchev suggested Cuban aerial inspection from space to avert a new crisis. Johnson says flights will continue.

Rockford Memorial Day parade sponsors the In Memoriam Association require knee length skirts for baton twirlers. Sixty girls from Nancy’s Baton Twirlers are sidelined for costumes deemed too scanty. Rev Wesley Burns and Rev Frank Hinebaugh join in worship, scripture, and benediction as the procession and choir provide music. Courses foresee commencement on Thursday with Carl H Waller as speaker. awards and diplomas follow in the high school gym with the chorus and soloists performing.
Jack Ruby received a superficial facial cut when he hurled a cuspidor at a light bulb in his county jail cell. Sheriff Decker said he shattered the bulb and broke his glasses before calming down. Defense lawyers claim Ruby has gone insane since the jury sentenced him to die for the Kennedy assassination.
Mrs. John F. Kennedy attended a high memorial Mass for her husband on what would have been his 47th birthday. Bishop Phillip Hannan praised him as a man who embodied dignity. Mrs. Kennedy and Caroline sat in a front pew as Robert F. Kennedy and his wife arrived.
Poston Postmaster General John A. Gronouski praised John F. Kennedy's ideals during ceremonies marking the Kennedy memorial stamp on the late president's 47th birthday. He quoted Kennedy's inaugural themes and affirmed Lyndon B. Johnson will continue to strive for these ideals, keeping the nation as a beacon to the world.
The two mythical nations Nezona and Calonia stand across the Colorado River as rear troops pack for the trek home. An admin break ended at 6 p.m. Thursday and Operation Desert Strike resumed. The conflict, to be settled by Saturday, has caused real casualties including 33 deaths, the latest being Pfc. William H. Wilson of St. Regis Falls New York who drowned in an irrigation ditch. most fatalities stem from traffic accidents.
Senator Edward M Kennedy lands in Dublin for a two day visit and a memorial ceremony honoring his brother President Kennedy with events planned at multiple sites in Ireland through the visit.

Parochial St Victor’s concludes with eighth grade graduation mass and a full program Wednesday night.
Gov John W Reynolds accepted an invitation from Michael Gundrum secretary of the seventh and eighth grades at Clyman consolidated grade school and will serve as commencement speaker for the school's 11 graduates tonight. Clyman in Dodge County has a population of 279 about 10 miles north of Watertown.
U S officials weigh expanding United Nations roles in Southeast Asia as Johnson weighs options at Honolulu meeting. The cabinet group will study Laos Viet Nam and Cambodia plus possible expanded military action with Rusk Namara Lodge McCone attending.
Beloit 18 year old John P Webster was convicted by a Rock County jury of first degree murder for stabbing Charles Hanson 19 of South Beloit in a Beloit parking lot on New Year’s Eve. Webster was acquitted of attempted murder in the Lary Margis case. Judge Edwin Dahlberg will set sentencing Monday.
Judy Garland was removed from the critical list at a Hong Kong hospital but the illness causing a coma remained unclear. Traveler Mark Herron said she looked better and described the condition as over exhaustion while typhoon Viola struck the city. A nurse offered conflicting notes, including heart attack and poisoning. The report also notes a Trans World Airlines Boeing 707 nose wheel collapse at Orly Airport, with the plane skidding off the runway as it prepared to depart for New York.
