The four day Memorial weekend event at Union Grove’s Great Lakes Dragaway offers a $70,000 purse. Headlining acts include Don Garlits Chris Karamesines Tom Ivo Don Prudhomme Mongoose McEwen and Sox Martin among others. Highlights feature Jack McClure’s 300 mph rocket go art Odyssey III turbine car and Army tank stunts by Jack Ehrmantraut plus motorcycle acts by the Gorney brothers.

Monroe Jaycees Extend Slowpitch Tournament Entry
The entry deadline for the Monroe Jaycees 1st annual 16inch Slowpitch Tournament is extended to May 25. Eight teams had entered. 24 or 32 team fields are possible. Entry fee is 50 dollars with a 15 man roster, sent to Fred Lickel. The June 23 event at Twining Park will crown a champion with 300 dollars to the winner.
