Date Set For Discussion With Policemen In Monroe
Mayor Walter R. Ekum announced May 27 at 7 30 p.m. as a general discussion with Monroe Policemen Association reps on pay, hours, and related matters. The open meeting at City Council Chambers will be attended by all council members and taxpayers. The session aims to hear requests rather than bargain and follows a late May letter from association president John C Winkler dated May 13 1968. Also on the docket was a public hearing on liquor licenses with none opposing and a zoning tweak allowing storm sewer work beside the Swiss Colony building to extend to the bakery complex. A land strip behind the industry building was approved for transfer.
