The Wisconsin Assembly rejected the Rosenberry reapportionment plan by a 45 to 53 vote halting further action on redistricting by population. The bill, named after former Chief Justice Marvin B. Veteran pastor dies after long Wisconsin service
Rev. E. H. Palechek aged 86, longtime Wisconsin Synod Lutheran pastor, died yesterday. He served from 1891 to 1939 at a joint parish in Chaseburg and the town of Hamburg, Vernon County, before retirement.

Adolph Meier Hurt In Tractor Accident Near Orfordville
Adolph Meier, 67, a former Green county farmer, suffered fractured ribs yesterday when his overturned tractor tapped him on his farm near Orfordville along highway 18. A two foot ditch likely saved his life as the machine struck it, overturned, and a passing truck driver alerted an implement store. Fifteen men lifted the tractor off him. Meier had farmed around Monticello for years.

Committee Approves 60 Percent Boost On Publication Mail
Washington reports the House Post Office Committee tentatively approved a 60 percent rise in second class publication mail charges to be phased in over three years at 20 percent annually. The move would add about 25 million dollars in post office revenue and also contemplates doubling postcard rates from one to two cents. A minimum mailing charge of one eighth cent per copy would apply to newspapers not distributed free in the county of publication.

Cedarville Lineman Fatally Electrocuted On Job
John Joseph Lucas twenty five a lineman for Utility Line Construction Co was killed yesterday afternoon on a Cedarville work site contracted by Public Service Co of Northern Illinois. Lucas tied in a phase wire on a forty foot pole beside the Methodist church when he cried out slumped in his belt as a high voltage line struck. Fellow lineman August Schillinger pushed the line away and the crew attempted revival efforts with Cedarville doctors and Freeport inhalator squad continuing from 3 45 p m to 6 42 p m. Lucas married father of two had worked recently in Savanna Mt Carroll and Rock Falls and the family moved to Mt Carroll from Clinton Ia last year.
