The Monroe City Council met Tuesday night at City Hall approving land sale bids for a 20 by 428 foot parcel next to old Wis. 81 east of Brennan's with a terrace strip retained. They considered rezoning near the Medical Center from R-1 to R-2 for a dental clinic and reviewed requests from Crandall Inc. and Robert Monte. The meeting also granted numerous Class A and B liquor and fermented malt beverage licenses to a long list of individuals and organizations, along with various electrical, pharmacist, taxi, and operator licenses and easements for sewer work. The council authorized bids for trenching and water main installation and approved several payments and claims totaling 8,769.89.
