Former Eagles President Killed in Wisconsin Highway Crash
Norbert J. Martin 51 of Oshkosh former Wisconsin Eagles president and Barbara Nelson 45 of Kaukauna a mother of 11 died in a two car collision with a semi truck on Highway 41 between Oshkosh and Neenah. Passenger Charles J. Sphatt 62 of Oshkosh was critically injured and truck driver Michael Noonan 27 of Milwaukee escaped unharmed. The crash occurred as Martin attempted to pass the semi as Nelson approached. The fatalities raise Wisconsin 1961 highway toll to 276. another death registered in New Richmond when a panel truck overturned.

Ben Huntley Dies State Movie Pioneer at 84
Ben Huntley of Black River Falls Wisconsin died at 84 from a heart attack and complications in a local hospital. He brought moving pictures to Wisconsin about 60 years ago and displayed his magic lantern at the State Fair in 1901. He declined a business offer with an early Hollywood founder and stayed with tent shows in Wisconsin Iowa and Minnesota. After 1901 the fair he was invited by Carl Laemmle to help open nickelodeon theaters, a precursor to Universal Studios.

A flight of 21 Flying Boxcars from the 440th Troop Carrier wing will perform in an Armed Forces Week demonstration across Wisconsin.
