A 2 year old boy named Richard Thun was found dead in a five foot trench near his Cody home after a power shovel filled the furrow. Sheriff Frank Blackburn said the child appeared to be playing in the trench when his foot wedged between the ditch wall and a sewer pipe. Workmen recalled seeing him nearby but not entering the trench.

Rescued Tot Rests Up After 4 Hour Ordeal
A 7 year old boy, Benjamin Hooper Jr, was rescued after 24 hours trapped in a 24 foot backyard well in Manorville New York. He remained in good condition under supervision, had cereal for his first solid food, and asked for a toy automobile for his birthday in July. Doctors warned pneumonia risk remains though and continued observation was planned. Oshkosh Pair Injured In Fog Crash Landing
A light plane crashed beside a foggy road south of Fond du Lac injuring Oshkosh residents Warren Basler 31 and Richard A. Nonweiler 27.
