Olson Seeks Running Mate At Wisconsin GOP Convention
At the Wisconsin GOP convention in Milwaukee delegates weighed the lieutenant governor race with Jack Olson as the gubernatorial hopeful. State Sen James Devitt and State Rep David Martin expressed confidence in winning the nomination. The senatorial contest favored John Erickson, Milwaukee Bucks GM, in a five-way field including James Long, Milo Knutson, Gerald Lorge, and Robert Johnson. Large Numbers of American Troops Leave Cambodia
Between 5 000 and 6 000 American troops have been withdrawn from operations inside Cambodia in the past five days leaving 9 000 to 10 000 beyond the border. The Se San base area operation started May 5 and ended with 184 North Vietnamese killed, 826 weapons and 599 tons of rice seized. Five U S soldiers were killed and nine wounded in a counterattack on Fire Base Branch as North Vietnamese forces pressed near border bases. Wisconsin toll hits 342 highway deaths for 1970, up from 307 a year earlier.

Juda Seniors Recieve Aid on Annual Class Trip
Graduating Juda High School seniors returned from a Williamsburg W Va trip aided annually by Frances V Leach of Bismarck ND who sends 100 dollars. The Leach gift began after the 1967 New Orleans motel tragedy in which nine girls died. Leach, Newsmaker of the Year in Tulsa, urges non smoking pledges and funds no smoking prizes. Seventeen seniors plus chaperones flew from Chicago May 11 for the 1970 jaunt.
