Portland area insurance agent Roy Stephens dies at 55
Roy K. Stephens 55, of Brodhead, an insurance agent and Bank of Brodhead director, died at about 5 20 p.m. after a heart attack on the Monroe Country Club golf course. He was golfing with Fred Hahlen and Willis M. Lorch when stricken. burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. He leaves Fern Ties, two children, a mother, and several grandchildren. Services Friday at 2 p.m. at Everson funeral home with Masonic rites at graveside.

School Bond Bid Dates Set For New High School Project

First National opens remodeled Monroe building marks milestone
The First National Bank celebrates the start of its second century with a remodeled Monroe building. Open houses for contractors, state bankers, Chicago area guests, and the public are planned.
