Tug Rescued After Gear-Run in Green Bay
A steel-hulled fishing tug ran aground on rocks in Green Bay about 35 miles north of Menominee Michigan and was pulled off by coast guardsmen. No injuries reported and the vessel will be towed to harbor for examination and repair.

Rescuers Reach Man Trapped 24 Hours in Brooklyn Well Shaft
Rescuers reached Dominick Atteo at the bottom of a 20 foot Brooklyn shaft at 12 10 p m today and he was alive. A physician lowered at 9 30 a m gave stimulants as Atteo buried up to his waist for nearly 24 hours. One leg pinioned by a boulder, the well digger was in a semi stuporous state with weak pulse and shallow breathing. A secondary shaft was dug and the dirt wall knocked out to free him. His wife Maria collapsed but recovered by morning after an all night vigil.
