Fort Atkinson won its own Fort Atkinson Invitational amid rain and wind. Oconomowoc placed second, Monroe third, and Monona Grove fourth with Monroe edging Monona by half a point. Gary Dexheimer set a meet mile record at 4 22.8, while Monona Grove rider Glen Woosley swept the 220 and 440. Monroe’s Dave Craige won the 120 High Hurdles in 16.9.
