Stoner of Savannah, claims new information shows Ray did not kill Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Stoner, tied to the National States Rights party, says Ray was pressured into the guilty plea and seeks a new trial. 95-Year-Old Woman Recovers From Hip Injury

Darlington, hospitalized at St. Clare Hospital since February 26 for a fractured hip, was discharged yesterday. Mrs. Bell of Lafayette County Manor Nursing Home was moved to St. Clare for hip surgery and has progressed well, with a nephew in Milwaukee as her only listed relative.

Zimmerli Herd Gone Vacation Needed To See Holsteins

The Ben Zimmerli family of Brodhead sold their Holstein herd, shipped 22 cows and 2 calves to Catlament Washington via train and truck. Dr Charles Emerick, a former summer helper, bought the cattle and the trip took four days. Norm Magnussen organized the voyage while Zimmerli recalls the move as largely successful.

Sfc. Kuster Earns Bronze Medal in Vietnam service

Army Sfc. Robert Kuster received the Bronze Star Medal February 11 in Vietnam for meritorious ground operations. He, his wife Orpha, and family reside in Monroe. Kuster has 24 years in the Army and plans retirement October 1 to work in aviation. He is with the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) and previously earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal among many decorations.

Elijah to Be Given March 29 at Monroe High

Rural Evansville Man Dies in Crash

The Associated Press reports Kenneth Bernick a 27 year old from rural Evansville died early today when his car overturned after leaving Highway 14 near Oregon in Dane County The Wisconsin highway toll this year reached 121 with three deaths including two in Kenosha County.
