District Event Next 4 H Vocal Groups Win Music Contest
Two vocal groups representing Argus 4H and Merry Monroettes were chosen to attend the District Festival after last night’s County Music Festival at Monroe Junior High. Jamaica Six from Argus 4H and a Merry Monroettes quartet earned blue ribbons along with several soloists and instrumental acts. The event featured 24 entrants and was directed by club leaders with judges and masters of ceremonies named. The district festival will take place at 7 30 p m on Monday March 22 at Marshall Junior High in Janesville.

In a fierce fight near Hoai mountain town 285 miles northeast of Saigon a U S Marine officer died along with 18 Vietnamese soldiers and more than 63 Viet Cong. Another Marine officer was wounded in the right cheek and evacuated to Nha Trang field hospital. The dead officer was the 302nd American KIA in Viet Nam since December 1961.

Sgt. Otto Kuenzi, WW II casualty, is honored with a Memorial Day decoration at Henri-Chapelle US Military Cemetery. Stuessy Kuenzi American Legion Post of New Glarus organizes the project, first of its kind for the Legion. Kuenzi served in the 16th Infantry and was killed Sept. 4, 1944, after service in Africa, Italy, France, and Belgium.

Rural Albany Residents Taken to Hospital Here
Two rural Albany residents were taken to St. Clare Hospital yesterday noon by Sharer Ambulance. Clarence Thomas Hefty, 40, from east of Albany in Rock County, was admitted at 2 25 p.m. as an accident patient with a dislocated shoulder and was dismissed this morning. Lee Sanderlin, a farmer in the Norwegian Settlement, was admitted at the same time as a medical patient.
