Eleven Die In Wisconsin Weekend Road Crashes

Associated Press report details eleven fatalities across Wisconsin over the weekend. Victims include Rodney Moliter and Norbert Muehlbauer in a Tomah area crash, Richard Swan near Lannon, Claude Dichler and Richard Boye in Sheboygan County, Mildred Gollon near Stevens Point, Janet Van Ess in Green Bay, and Stanley B. Frankiewicz in Milwaukee. Weather contributed with icy and slushy roads. toll for 1961 reaches 143.

Voter Registration Totals Trim Local Primary Ballot

A total of 4 857 registered voters will be eligible to cast ballots in tomorrow's primary election. Polls open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Turner Hall. The local drop in registration, 43 fewer than November, is blamed on deaths and residents moving away. Ward-by-ward figures show declines, led by the Seventh Ward from 579 to 557.

Warden's Ice Span Rescues Cars on Lake Winnebago

Chilton Wisconsin conservation warden Raymond Ecker and his son Earl used a 40 by 40 foot ice span cut from Lake Winnebago to bridge a gap. Six stranded cars and eight passengers were rescued with help from boat crews and twenty volunteers as ice broke apart and drifted toward shore.

Fire damages Red Coach Inn in Elm Grove area

Monroe Dairy Day chosen as site for June celebration

The Monroe Chamber of Commerce announced Monroe will host the Dairy Day promotion in late June. George Wells said James Volkert will chair the program with a planning committee including city and county groups.
