Five Still Missing In Plane Accident
Milwaukee air and surface units pressed a search for five of six men aboard a U S Air Force C 45 plane that crashed into Lake Michigan Saturday night after reporting low fuel. Major Milton Bender was found dead wearing a Mae West life preserver, 20 miles from the crash site. Youth Kills Four In Stabbing Spree
A recently released patient from a mental hospital, William Jones, slain four strangers and wounded seven others in a ten minute Brooklyn stabbing spree. Police subdued him after a chase across three blocks. Four victims were white men met with no prior known connection to Jones. One wounded man was a 20 year old Black neighbor who greeted him. Jones had used a 14 inch carving knife and had been deemed sane shortly before the rampage. The incident echoes a prior Camden NJ case by Howard Unruh.
