Old Glory Flag Damaged by Wind Flown at Court House
The northwest corner Civil War statue at the courthouse saw Old Glory torn by a gust damaging the fourth stripe of the 13 striped flag. Otto Schneider, courthouse custodian, said the flag had been in use about eight months. The flag is provided by the Women's Relief Corps with a grant from the O. F. Pinney Post of the G A R when it disbanded. The W R C was notified of the incident.

Crane Pins Man to Death in Unloading Accident
Carl F. Gauger 45 was killed when a crane toppled while unloading 8 foot wood bolts from a flat car at Oshkosh. Dr. G F Steele Winnebago county coroner said Gauger, operator of the Gauger, is survived by his wife and five children.

An intensive campaign seeks to enroll 800 Green county 4 H members this week with club activities and a county wide publicity effort. Members must complete a spring summer project and document it for September review earning a certificate of achievement after a public exhibition. Parental backing is urged as essential for success. Window displays run in Monticello Monroe and Williamsburg area with countywide touring planned by end of March. In 1945 Green county had 437 members in 24 clubs with 365 completing projects for 86.2 percent achievement.
