Trip Into Mine Is Group Thrill

A Badger Lapidary and Geological Society field trip into a zinc lead incline mine near Shullisburg, with 24 adults and 16 youths exploring 200 feet underground. Led by William J. The event features 16 rinks with play through today and tomorrow starting at 8. Man Threatens LBJ Faces Federal Charge

Oswald S. Pick 27 of Clifton New Jersey allegedly threatened the life of President Johnson. He was taken from a Washington bound train in Philadelphia and held on fifty thousand dollars bail after phoning the threat to the FBI office in Washington early Friday morning.

Crash North Of Monticello Fatal to Teacher

Miss Barbara L. Schuetze a 21 year old Monroe teacher and musician died in a highway crash 1½ miles north of Monticello. Her car struck a farm truck driven by Jacob C. Hefty 64 of Glarus suffering fractures and chest injuries. Hefty was listed in fair condition. Schuetze born April 5 1944 was a UW music graduate and taught at New Holstein.

Mrs Belle Elliott and daughter Kay Bayrhoffer return from a three week tour of Portugal Spain France and England. Plans for Idle Hour Mansion include six new motel units on the second floor with European ideas and an antique shop on the first floor. A bulldozer will clear and replant after spring, with some trees replaced if damaged. The Alphorn Motel owners Bayrhoffer have added units and show ongoing interest in the mansion project.
