Dr. John Ames Dies at Madison
Dr. John Q. Ames 80 a former dean of George Williams College Brooklyn Route 2 died Wednesday in a Madison hospital after a brief illness. He traveled thousands of miles, served as YMCA secretary in Shanghai Moscow New Haven and South Bend and led George Williams from 1919 to 1932. He held degrees from George Williams Yale and the University of Chicago. Survivors include his wife a son and several relatives. Services set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Brooklyn Methodist Church.

Soviet Assails U S Boarding Of Soviet Trawler
London reports Moscow protested the U S naval boarding of the Soviet trawler Novorossisk off Newfoundland on February 26 alleging the action was provocative. Lt Donald Sheely said the vessel likely involved in the transatlantic cable break, whether by accident or intent. The Soviet note called the detention a provocation.

Four More Die In Wisconsin Traffic Toll
Four deaths within hours Wednesday night raise Wisconsin 1959 highway toll to 107, surpassing last year’s 104. Rellis A. Vroman, 36, of Hartland, died when his car overturned at Highways 30 and 16.
