Minstrel Show Soloists Named for Lions Club City Band Show
Mrs Allan F Barnard producer and director announced the 4th annual Lions Club City Band Minstrel Show will run next Tuesday and Wednesday in the high school auditorium. Soloists listed include Virgil Wenger Richard Kelly Forrest Kubly J T Etter Jr Donald Ripp William Rollins and Charles Figs with Ernie Shober on bones. The event honors the late Charles A Booth with more than 140 special musical arrangements prepared under Barnard who directs the orchestra. A dress rehearsal is Sunday afternoon and a traditional style show of Monroe’s females is also on the program. Tickets are distributed by Lions Club City Band First National Bank and direct mail through the Barnards. Ushers include Penny Haberman Carol Wolfe Betty Gemp ler Ann Goodmiller John Fritsch and Rudolph Reger Jr. Rural viewers must watch during regular Farm ers Night presentations.

A Royal Air Force Beverley transport crashed into two farm houses near Drayton England after taking off from Abingdon for Malta. Seventeen people died including fifteen airmen and two farm occupants. The 70 ton four engine aircraft carried eighteen crew and passengers.

Dietsch Given Nine Months For Prison Farm Escape
George Dietsch aged 54, who lived under an assumed name for 22 years in Minnesota and Iowa, received an additional nine months confinement on Monday for fleeing a Wisconsin prison farm in 1935. He pleaded guilty to the escape charge in Circuit Court.

Sylvester Johnson a Biggs school teacher in Adams Township says he signed a mutual termination with the district board after the board dismissed teachers for the week.
