James Gordee led the ceremony with four assistant Scoutmasters as Rev Bernard Bartel gave the invocation. Awards also included Tenderfoot pins Merit badges first aid and service stars alongside years of service for several scouts.

The State Department said U S staff at the La Paz embassy moved to the city outskirts for protection by Bolivian forces after anti American riots.
