Markets Today Show Mixed Livestock and Grain Activity
Chicago livestock prices slipped for cutters while hogs 170 to 240 pounds mostly 20.50 to 21.25 with top 21.40. Cattle and calves steady to firmer though cows weaker. Live poultry steady to weak. eggs and butter unchanged. Grain fell late after rains in spring wheat and rye belts. Wall Street rose modestly with gains in Bethlehem Steel and Twentieth Century-Fox. Illiteracy data show 4.3 percent.
