Taft Denies GOP Credentials Majority Reported
Sen Taft said he cannot be sure his followers will hold a majority on the credentials committee at the Chicago convention. He noted the panel will rule on seating contested delegates after the Republican National Committee decides and that most members are not pledged to him. Eisenhower supporters call this a steamroller while taft forces deny any Texas delegation theft and accuse rivals of loud protest.
