David Trumpy Route 1 won a Holstein calf donated by the Green County Holstein Breeders Association at the twilight meeting at the Carl Wyss farm. Richard Oliver Albany was second and Bradford Leichelkraut New Glarus third in the junior dairy judging contest. Senior winners were Mrs Edward Oliver Albany first Permin Graber Monticello second Ralph Elmer Monticello third. The judge Charles Brace Lone Rock urged more breeders to join the state association as rule changes trim registration fees for both state and national groups. He warned milk prices differ regionally and forecast steady to rising dairy replacement prices in fall. Karen Meier and Danny Meier performed and Armin Rufer children sang. Brace’s South America slides were shown before about 200 attendees. H Otto Elmer Monticello presided. Rupert Rasmussen Lone Rock became the new state association secretary.
