Baltzer Receives Three Year Federal Sentence
Gilbert T. Baltzer, 36, who ran a flying service since 1945, is sentenced to three years in federal prison on four counts of falsifying GI pilots training records. He pleaded guilty June 6 and will be eligible for parole after one year and a day, with five days off per month for good behavior.

Swiss Club members met to plan a picnic set for July 22 in Turner hall. Fred Glauser, president, led a tribute to Adolf Angliker the former vice president. Six new members were admitted. A movie titled America the Beautiful was shown along with footage by Jack Vederman from the 1950 Saengerfest in Tacoma Washington.

Lowery Oscar Ross 66 of Stockton Illinois died at 12 01 this morning in St. Clare hospital. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at Clyde Herman funeral home in Stockton. He was born July 24 1884 in Abilene Kansas son of Wilkerson and Elizabeth Barrett Ross. His wife died in 1944. He was a retired train dispatcher for the Chicago and Great Western Railroad.

AP Prague Reporter Faces Trial in Czech Court Soon
AP Prague bureau chief William Oatis, 37, was arrested April 23 on hostile activities charges and will stand trial within days. Czech Foreign Minister Jiri Siroky informed U S Ambassador Briggs of the forthcoming case after Oatis disappeared April 23 and was seized by three Czech agents as he prepared to leave his Prague residence. Oatis, native of Marion Indiana, has headed the AP bureau there since last June.

Verne H. Knoll, 34, former Beaver Dam mayor and attorney, was sentenced to 30 to 561 years in state prison on 641 counts of forgery obtaining money under false pretenses and larceny as bailee.
