Wausaukee Seeks New Senior High Principal Babula Chosen
The Board of Education voted to offer a contract to Walter A. Babula 41 supervising principal of Wausaukee schools for the senior high post. He will replace Lloyd Nielsen who leaves Aug 15 for Harvard studies. Babula a Hawkins native served in the Navy Seabees and Korean War and has held Crandon and Wausaukee leadership roles. He will start Aug 1 after board notification.

Banker Refuses Talk At Senate Boxing Inquiry
Washington The imprisoned banker of New York’s underworld testified he was threatened to avoid answering questions about his ties to underground boxing figures. Irving Mishel, kept from Clinton State Prison, said he would not discuss Frankie Carbo or other usurious dealings, while Sen. Hart ruled he had no legal right to refuse. Mishel previously testified about loaning millions to underworld figures, and faces 10 to 20 years for grand larceny. Jake LaMotta testified of a fixed 1947 bout and rebuffed offers of 100000 each to throw two fights.

Pastor Harless Dies in Iowa After Interim Service
Reverend William O. Harless, interim pastor at Union Presbyterian Church, died last Wednesday in Fort Dodge Iowa. Burial occurred at Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids. Survived by two children George of Sioux City and Helen Nelson of Jefferson, he was a Coe College trustee and former Presbyterian Synod of Iowa executive. He had been retired since 1951 and served Monroe briefly after arriving in February 1958.

Missing Pair Found Dead in Plane Crash
The crumpled bodies of two Milwaukee area business executives James E. Wright 41 and Harland Sanders 28 were found Tuesday among wreckage of their light plane hidden in swamp after four days. They vanished Friday during a fishing trip to Eagle River after takeoff. The crash occurred 342 miles southwest of Monico, about 14 miles east of Rhinelander.
