Convair to Build Atom-Power Seaplane Next Year
Convair will begin constructing an atomic powered seaplane in San Diego early next year. The craft is described as able to retaliate with an H-bomb from a covert ocean base even if land based bombers are wiped out. Rep. Bob Wilson announced the project after talks with Navy officials in Washington. Navy budget funds the project for the coming fiscal year starting July 1, though the amount remains secret.
