They indicated withholding will be given due consideration though a party resolution opposing it passed at the state convention. Nelson plans to urge adjournment as the 1961 session threads toward a tax stalemate similar to 1959.

Lightning Hits Barn on Bennett Farm Destroyed by Fire
A barn on the Bennett farm near South Wayne was struck by lightning at 12:30 am and destroyed. Browntown firefighters saved no structure. Loss estimated at $10,000 with hay and ground feed burned. no livestock or machinery. Drs. Byron R. Bennett and David K. Bennett recently purchased the Carl Broge Estate farm nearby. Mrs. Wynn found the blaze. No rebuilding plans announced.

City completes sludge covering and sewer plans eyed
