Nine Day Deer Season Proposed By Conservationists

The Conservation Congress rejected a 14 day deer season and backed a nine day statewide hunt starting Nov 19. It would end the party permit system and remove early bear and sharp tailed grouse seasons while proposing goose limits in the Mississippi flyway and a two weekend spike buck period. The plan also advised county options for quail and added shotgun hunting by reservation near Horicon Refuge. Deer hunting would run Nov 12-18 in northern counties and statewide Nov 19-25 with no party-permit.
