Hog sales opened slow then steady with top hogs at 21.75 and various weights from 170 to 400 pounds showing 18.25 to 21.75. Cattle and calves weak with steers at 25.50 to 28.00, cows 13.00 to 21.00, vealers up to 28.00. Produce prices were unsettled with fowl 28–32 cents, butter steady, eggs up to 2 cents per dozen.
New York stocks show faint downward tendencies with a tentative session. The day ends with mixed results and losses lingering as traders weigh oversupply and confidence factors.
The Clarno 4-H club met Tuesday evening at the West Clarno school with Andrew Hartwig coordinating plans for a forthcoming picnic agenda.
The club scheduled a tour and picnic dinner for Sunday July 3. Arrangements were completed for the annual ice cream social at West Clarno School on Friday June 24. The next meeting is set for July 14 at the school.
