Dubuque Driver Cleared After Jefferson County Hotel Robberies
A 26 year old Dubuque motorist was detained for hours by Green County authorities in connection with two Jefferson County hotel robberies and a clerks shooting. Clerks at the Blackhawk and Jefferson House identified the man as not the gunman and he was released. Detective details note the suspect’s car matched a description and license number later traced to Janesville, but the motorist’s appearance and clothes did not match. The wounded clerk, Donald King, remained in serious condition at Ft. Atkinson hospital.

Blanchardville Youth Hurt When Tractor Tips Over
A 14 year old Blanchardville farm youth, Gary Kammerude, son of Mr and Mrs LaVerne Kammerude, Route 1 Blanchardville, was injured when the tractor he was driving tipped over on the Kammerode farm. He was admitted to St. Clare hospital at 10:35 this morning in fair condition with bruises and internal injuries.
