New Wildcat Oil Boom Is Started in Oklahoma

War wealthy amateurs have begun a bold Oklahoma oil boom with more than 600 wells drilled by investors outside the industry. Wildcatters, including war contractors and brewers, spend from 5 000 to 1 000 000 per well chasing unproven pools, according to Daily Oklahoman oil editor Claude Barrow. Since oil’s dawn, 761 fields yielded almost 5.5 billion barrels, paying producers and royalty owners about 7 billion dollars.
