Burmeisters earn diplomas and move to Iowa
Dave and Jackie Burmeister graduated May 27 from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute La Crosse with an associate in mechanical design and a clerk typing diploma. They will move to Cedar Rapids Iowa in June after Dave accepts a position at FMC Link-Belt Speeder Co. in Iowa. In Wayne Township and South Wayne April and May fund drive collected 258 dollars for the American Cancer Society.

Lafayette County Youths Named to Reach-Out 4-H Ensemble
Two Lafayette County youths Steve Nethery and John Keyes were selected as members of the Reach-Out ensemble for State 4-H Congress. Steve, son of William and Marvelle Nethery, is a Black Hawk High School junior in Gratiot with the drums as his major. John, son of Donald and Marguerite Keyes, is Belmont High School senior and First Capitol 4-H Club member with trumpet. The 17 statewide participants will study music in Spring Green June 8 to 13 and perform before 1,000 delegates at Madison Next week.

Lafayette County announces a Dairy Month Bake-Off with a Dairy Cakes category. The event is June 29 at 1 30 p m in the County Board Room Darlington, with a June 18 deadline. Prizes are cheese in three divisions and entries must include dairy products and be clearly written with full instructions.
