Wisconsin weekend accidents kill thirteen
The Associated Press reports 13 people died in Wisconsin weekend crashes and drownings. Two men drowned when their car plummeted through a guard rail into Pine Creek near Tomahawk. Others drowned or died in water accidents at Lake George Rhinelander Lake Waubesa Madison and Tainter Lake. Vehicle crashes killed several more including a two car crash near Merrill and a three car collision near Milltown. A fatal ditch departure occurred on Highway 45 near Three Lakes and others died in Racine and Dodge Fond du Lac counties. One drowning victim was a 21 year old Mononime man, and several youths were injured or killed in various incidents.

Drowns Testing New Racing Boat on Lake Waubesa
Lyle Alme, 20, drowned last night while trialing a new racing craft off Waubesa Beach between Hog Island and the shore. A power launch caused waves that allegedly swamped the boat. Alme disappeared after diving to reach his overturned craft. His body was recovered around 7 am by Sheriff Franz Haas and Deputy A. E. Ferchland. Two Car Mishaps Injure Four Here
Four persons were injured in two county traffic mishaps over the weekend reported by the sheriff's department. Clayton J. Norder. 1419 12th avenue, had a head cut when his car left the road two miles south of Brodhead at 11 35 p m Saturday resulting in a total wreck for his car. Passengers Larry Saunder and Willis Gretzmaker, both of Brodhead, were bruised. At 10 p m Saturday Nathan Neuenschwander of Orangeville, owner by his father, tipped over on the first gravel road east of Clarno injuring Marvin Flick of Monroe and others including Robert Trauschel Roger Kubly and Ralph Jegerschner. Norder fined 30 dollars plus costs for careless driving Neuenschwander forfeited 200 dollars for leaving the scene of an accident.
