The Green County Fair Board will designate July 29 as Monroe Evening Times Emery A Odell Day to honor the publisher for more than 53 years of service to dairy farming. Odell will be saluted at noon during the stock parade as a founder and promoter of the Times, with library and historical society acknowledgments noting his books on Green County cheese.

The Monday Fun Day events at Meer tion Park are postponed due to bad weather. The parade will still form at Lincoln School with a route outlined along 17th Avenue and 1th Street to 22nd Avenue, ending at Recreation Park. The band will perform in costumes with bikes along the route, and the entertainment program at Monroe Youth Community Center features a dance with Andy Anderson's orchestra starting at 8 p.m.
