Father of Seven Hurt In County Car Crash Near Juda
A one car crash near Juda left Norman Strothman and four Strothman children hospitalized after the vehicle rolled over on the Juda road. Norman Strothman 28 is in critical condition with skull fractures while Lewis Coulthard 9 and Norman L 7 suffered contusions and lacerations. Norma Jean 18 months and Albert D 6 were treated and released. The wife Nellie Strothman and other children were not injured. The sheriff investigated another two car crash near Monroe affecting drivers Gerald Meier and Lawrence Purcell, with a severed utility pole.

Legion to Host State Golf Tournament in Monroe
The American Legion State Golf Tournament will be held September 24 in Monroe, marking Monroe’s first hosting in eight years. Legion leader R L Cashman announced plans to form a committee at the upcoming regular meeting. Edwin L. Bandi age 22 of Monroe joined the Monroe police force today to bring the department to 11 men and one woman. He will patrol and learn law enforcement and investigations during a training period. He previously worked two years for Pauly Cheese Co and is a National Guard sergeant.
